  1. I found this episode very helpful. It’s good to answer these questions for those of us who have not been directly affected, but who have an interest in parental alienation. I never knew just how many people it affected before, and it’s definitely something that we as a society need to work on. I also appreciated your comments on equality. Granting equal rights to one group of people does not take your rights away, it just gives other people the same rights as you. This is spot on. Well done Paul

  3. With so much going on we are beginning to ramp up the pressure upon those who work with alienated children and their families everywhere. We are approaching the tipping point of change in awareness which opens the door to changes in policy and practice.

    One movement, many hands.

    The year of change. 2018.

The year we did it together.

  4. Parental alienation is the “programming” of a child by one parent to denigrate the other (targeted) parent, in an effort to undermine and interfere with the child’s relationship with that parent, and most often occurs within the context of a child custody conflict. This includes the “legal abuse” of parents who have been disenfranchised from their children’s lives subsequent to sole custody and primary residence judgments. Within an adversarial legal process, non-custodial parents are often subjected to shame and stigma, lack of access to their children, and devaluation of their role as parents. And those who speak about the pain and woundedness in their lives are subjected to a mean-spirited cultural response, where their talk of woundedness is mocked.

  5. Andrew Teague, will be walking from Swansea to London to raise awareness of Parental Alienation.

We have managed to get a one of the UK’s leading experts in Parental Alienation on board with our campaign, and all funds raised by this campaign will be used to pay for a professional videographer to assist us in the making of an educational DVD to be sent out to schools, local authorities and judges to make the professionals more aware of the signs of Parental Alienation and the damage it can do to a young childs mind.

  6. TOKYO (Kyodo) — The Supreme Court overturned on Thursday a lower court ruling that sided with a mother who brought her 13-year-old son to Japan from the United States and turned down the father’s request to return the child.

The top court made the first decision on cases in which the return of a child has yet to take place despite a finalized Japanese court order to take the child back based on the 1980 Hague Convention on the Civil Aspects of International Child Abduction.

  7. In 2014 Japan formally joined the Hague Convention on the Civil Aspects of International Child Abduction, which states that children under 16 should be returned to their country of “habitual residence” if abducted across international borders by one parent. The treaty is not retroactive, however. According to Gomez, Japan is not complying with the Hague Convention and two other international treaties on children’s rights, the United Nations Convention on the Rights of Children (UNCRC) and the Vienna Convention.
